University of Cambridge – B.A. in Arabic & Middle Eastern Studies (double 1st-class honours)
United Kingdom | Harvard Kennedy School, MPP
Building on his experience at the UK Cabinet Office, Tom’s main areas of focus are electoral policy and democratic institutions. At the Harvard Kennedy School, he aims to understand how to design policies which both make elections widely accessible to voters and also maintain confidence in the integrity of the electoral process. Tom is interested in the intersection of democracy and technology and how this affects political participation and public trust in government. He also wishes to learn more about grassroots campaigning in the USA, something he first witnessed at the 2020 Iowa Caucuses while shadowing a Reuters journalist.
