Ava Mitchell
United Kingdom | Harvard Kennedy School, Master in Public Policy (MPP)
Ava has a multidisciplinary academic background in Human Sciences, where she looked at social, biological, and cultural approaches to the major challenges of the 21st century. She has spent the past four years applying this perspective at the centre of the UK government, working on social and economic policy at HM Treasury and the Cabinet Office, most recently focusing on mobilizing social investment to support public service reform.
While at Harvard, she intends to explore how we can mobilize cross-sector coalitions to tackle complex social problems, with a particular interest in community-led and relational approaches. She also plans to take advantage of Harvard’s cross-registration opportunities and build on her interdisciplinary background through courses in anthropology and demography.
