Karl has worked for four years as an advisor in the UK Treasury, including most recently in the Chancellor’s Growth Delivery Unit, where he led on projects to accelerate the delivery of the government’s AI and innovation agenda. At Harvard, Karl plans to build on this experience by exploring topics relating to the governance and political economy of AI, with a particular interest in what AI might mean for democracy, the distribution of power, and state capacity.
